Sky

I learned a word in language study that I will never forget, even if I never use it. The word is тэнгэр (tenger). It is a combination of two words. The second is "ger". "Ger" is the traditional nomadic round house that Mongolians are known for. They use this word for anything "home" related. The first word "ten" actually has several meanings, but in this context it is used to describe something so immense and vast like the ocean. You put these two words together and you get an immense-home, or their word for the sky.
