Culture Corner - Hands
When I give money or credit card to a cashier, I use two fingers to pass it on.
In language class, while discussing the topic of money and shopping, I did this very thing. My teacher Altah, flicked my hand. It is rude to hand anything over using two fingers. You must use your whole hand. It must also be your right hand, but not for the same reasons as Muslims. You use your left hand when you are apologetic. When receiving, you use your right hand, unless it's a gift, then you use both hands. Also, the way I sit is insulting but they can suck it, that is how I sit and it's comfortable for me. When sitting, both feet must be touching the floor or at least no one can see the bottom of your feet. Also, you cannot prop your feet on the table, because the bottom of your feet is disgusting.
Jean will eventually get her finger bitten off by Altah for all the pointing she does.
